Volos Library Extension
A reading room added to a 1962 library, joined to it by a glazed link 2.4 metres wide. The new room is a single volume with north light on three sides and no windows facing the street.
The shelves are the structure. Nine loadbearing bookcases in laminated fir carry the roof, which means the perimeter is free and the room can be read in one glance from the door.
