A covered square rather than a building: a 24 × 24 metre roof, four cores, and nothing else. It was built as a temporary structure for a single summer and the municipality has kept it for eight years.

The roof is a two-way concrete waffle, 300 mm deep, cast in situ over eleven pours. Rain leaves through the four cores; there are no gutters.

There are no walls, no doors, and no lighting except four uplights in the cores. It is used for markets, concerts, and, twice a year, for nothing at all.

The waffle was set out so that the coffers align with the paving below. It cost three weeks of drawing and no money.
